Beware of fraudulent statements from Global Investment Trading
MONTREAL, July 8, 2021 / CNW Telbec / – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is warning Quebec consumers against fraudulent representations made by Global Investment Trading. On the liyeplimal.net website, this company promises investors who buy “plans” that they will earn “guaranteed” weekly returns from cryptocurrency trading.
Global Investment Trading solicits Quebec investors on social networks, in particular via the Facebook page âLiyeplimalCanadaâ. A multilevel marketing structure could help to generate consumer interest in this offer.
Global Investment Trading is not registered with the AMF in any capacity whatsoever and is therefore not authorized to act as a broker or advisor in securities or derivatives in Quebec.
A warning has already been issued regarding this company by the Central African Financial Market Surveillance Commission (COSUMAF).
The AMF recommends that Quebec consumers carry out the following checks and steps before investing through an individual or a business that solicits them:
-
Check the Register of companies and persons authorized to practice or contact the AMF Information Center to find out whether the natural or legal person concerned is duly registered with the AMF
-
If the business or individual is saved with the AMF, call them at the telephone number entered in the Register to confirm that the solicitation is real from this company or this natural person
-
If the business or individual is not registered to the AMF, immediately report the situation to an agent of the AMF Information Center
-
Never share personal information or make a payment before performing these checks
The Autorité des marchés financiers is the regulatory and supervisory body for Quebec’s financial sector.
