They are some of the most popular animated characters on TV right now, but fans have been warned they’ll never know who voices Bluey’s beloved puppies.
According to actress Melanie Zanetti, who plays Chilli, Bluey’s mom, the production team has always agreed to keep the stars behind Bluey and Bingo a secret in order to protect their identities.
If your family has watched the much-loved ABC Kids program too often – and maybe even hiked the recently dropped third season – you’ll notice that the end credits include all of the characters except the little ones.
And there is a good reason.
âAll of the kids on the show are family members of people in production. I’m so glad the show’s creators have decided that no one will be in the credits to protect the young actors,â Melanie told Kidspot.
While they weren’t sure at the time of the cartoon’s success, Zanetti says she’s grateful to the creative team for thinking ahead of time about protecting their young actors – especially considering of the series’ current popularity abroad.
âI think it was so smart and I’m so happy that, not knowing how big the show would be, they had the foresight to do it.
“In the long run, I think protecting young people is so important in this industry.”
“You have read so much about things that have happened to people who were in this industry so early on and I am so grateful to the creatives at Bluey for being so wise in it.”
When Bluey first launched on ABC Kids in Australia, it didn’t take long for it to be the country’s most downloaded series.
And while people around the world seem all too familiar with the show’s voices, Zanetti says she loves being in public and watching Bluey fans shop for merchandise or talk about the show without a clue who she is.
“I love it. I have a bit of a chameleon voice,” she said, admitting that no one ever understands that her sweet voice is the same as Chilli’s.
âWith Chilli I lean more into an Australian mom with cute little puppies. I think it’s less recognizable, but I’ve been in a number of situations in America which is wild where people lose. head when they find out, âshe said. laughed.
