NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, UNITED STATES, June 8, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Kelly mendell, CEO of MIKEL, a company that provides submarine warfare solutions to the Department of Defense and various civilian organizations, today announced that Michael dyson was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the growing company.
After several important contract awards, MIKEL is investing in its growth. Dyson will be responsible for product development and production activities for MIKEL at its new facility located in Fall River, Massachusetts. In six months, Dyson will upgrade the facility to ISO 9001 2015 standards and renovate the space for increased productivity. This growth was driven by MIKEL’s most innovative product, the SANS (Submerged Acoustic Navigation System), which provides highly accurate underwater positioning information to a ship and is currently equipped on all submarines in the US Navy.
Dyson will lead all aspects of operations at MIKEL to ensure the company achieves its goal of becoming nationally recognized as the most reliable and customer-focused destination of innovative underwater technologies for the US Navy and that its product is installed in every submarine and unmanned vehicle in the Navy fleet.

Dyson was the former President of Globe Composite Solutions, a manufacturer of urethane and composite components for prime contractors in the marine industry and industrial, material handling and marine customers. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations at Cole Hersee / Littelfuse, a global leader in the manufacture of heavy-duty and industrial vehicle electrical switching solutions for OEM and aftermarket customers. He is a leader in lean manufacturing and throughout his career he has designed, implemented and managed cost effective sourcing and sourcing to ensure operational excellence and profitability in all organizations that he served.
