So, once in Haven Hills, the team burst into the company’s version of a Walmart-like big box store, Roxxcart, where they meet people seeking shelter from an impending hurricane and sadly. devastating, as well as the variant they tracked down. While everything that goes on within Roxxcart is incredibly engaging, if you’re like us, you might have spent some time wondering why Roxxcart sounds vaguely familiar and if there’s any significance to it. appearance of neon-lit hypermarket. So, as I mentioned before, Roxxcart is Roxxon’s private hypermarket, and although Loki marks the first time Roxxcart has even been mentioned in both the MCU and the comics, Marvel and Roxxon have a story in both. First appeared in Captain America # 180 in 1974, Roxxon Energy is essentially the evil corporation in the Marvel Universe and has been involved in several stories with several Marvel heroes. Just like Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil, jurassic park‘s Ingen, and Aliens Weyland-Yutani, Roxxon is basically always up to something that is actively harming the planet or humanity in the pursuit of “progress”, which puts them very much in hot water. However, seeing as Loki and the gang waltz into a store operated by Roxxon in 2050, you can safely assume that these guys never really learn their lesson, and – like all multi-billion dollar conglomerates – have become so intertwined. people’s lives that their profitability is unwavering. However, even before 2050, we saw Roxxon all over.

Prior to Roxxon’s appearance in Loki, the power and power company made appearances in Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, Cloak and Dagger, Helstom, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Runaways, and every last of the Iron Man movies, as seen above. While Roxxon is never the villain in any of these stories, in each of them Roxxon plays an important role in shaping the world of Marvel. People have conversations about the business, hear about it on the news, or walk past their ads on the street. In daredevil, Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson champion the company as interns. In Iron man 3, “The Mandarin” threatens to kill an on-air Roxxon employee after the company spills a million gallons of oil in the Gulf and suffered no consequences. In Agent Carter, you discover that in the Marvel world, Roxxon is responsible for creating the American atomic bombs.

So while Roxxon has yet to take center stage in any MCU history, we are constantly reminded that society exists and that these worlds are all so intertwined with each other, which makes the A damn cool Roxxcart Easter egg.
